Work frustrations?!
Tick Tock Tick Tock… It’s only 3.53pm. Perhaps is the mood of working today makes time goes by too slowly. I have been in an ‘indescribable’ mood / feelings for the one whole week. It is because the desire and passion for the job is slowly fading?! But wait.. I have only been the recruitment line (which is really new for me) for 3 months. Why?! Candidates are just pissing me off. People are always complaining that they are unable to get a better job. I do understand how tough is it to get a good pay job. Absence for interviews… coming in late… improper attire… anything you can name of. You think you can get average jobs with these kind of attitudes, not to say high pay job.
Excuses?! Lame ones I received! Maybe a few examples.
Conversation 1
Me: You are supposed to be here for interview today right?! Why ain’t you here yet?!
Candidate: Oh no! I have totally forgotten about the interview. I was too busy. Can I like reschedule the interview to tomorrow.
Me: Sure! Make sure you remember your interview schedule this time.
Candidate: Alright! See you.
Next day….
Me: Why didn’t you turn up again?!
Candidate: Oh shit! I have forgotten to inform you that I’m busy too and not able to come. Can I….
Me: So sorry but no!
Conversation 2
Candidate: Yea! I’m really interested in the job, can we arrange for an interview tomorrow afternoon?
Me: Sure! Why not? Please be here at 2pm with your resume and certificates
Next day….
(As usual, candidate didn’t turn up and I have to make a call to see if he has any problem getting here)
Me: You have any problems finding the place?! It’s almost 3pm and you’re not here yet.
Candidate: Sorry for not informing you earlier but my mother is ill and I have to take care of him. Perhaps we can reschedule for another session tomorrow.
(Of course I will give him another chance since he has his reason. Have to be more lenient sometimes)
Next day approaches….
(Still he didn’t appear for the interview)
Candidate: I’m really sorry but my cousin just passed away I need get back to my hometown immediately.
(Wow wow wow!! First mom sick then cousin passed away… such coincidence meh?!)
I’m not exactly complaining about my work but candidates can pissed you off so much that makes you hate your job in return. I do like my working environment with the flexibility to still have the time to work on my freelance jobs. I don’t always get jobs as a freelancer if you get what I mean. To be honest, the job sounds interesting in the first place so I wanted to give it a try and see what it looks like to be in the recruitment line. But alas, I guess I’m not so into it after all.

Mother’s Day Dinner @ Gaucho Grill, KL
I know Mother’s Day was a month ago but I did not have the time to edit the pictures and post them up. It’s better to be late than never right?!
Anyway, if you are wondering how did I find out about ‘Gaucho Grill‘…… here kyspeaks.com. My cousins and I were having a tough time making decisions on where to spend Mother’s Day dinner. We wanted western food and thought that ‘Victoria Station‘ would be too boring. Something new would be cool.

Garlic bread… It’s delicious. In fact, there’s the most delicious dish amongst all

Sirloin steak! This one is not bad. At least it tasted better if compared to other steaks.

T-Bone. The guy who was taking our orders recommended this. Conclusion, he sucks at recommending.

Lamb Rack. Sucks as well. The meat was so hard that it can be used to hit a dog ( deng sai gou in canto – I know my pinyin not good
).

Salmon with Lobster. That’s my order. Err… no comments but the salmon in Prego still the best :XO:

Rib Eye with Lobster

Cousin is enjoying his drink

Sweet family picture

The dinner cost us about RM700 which is almost the same to what cost us at Prego. I would opt for Prego in that case.

Fuel increases to RM2.70 per liter causes traffic jam
So fuel is announced to be increase by midnight. I was reading the papers this morning and I thought the increment will only be in August. Then I received a sms from my cousin in the evening while driving home from work. A sms reading “Fuel will increase to RM2.70 per liter by midnight”. I was like “Phew! I filled up my tank this morning therefore I will not have to stuck the queues in petrol stations”. But alas, I was caught in the jam due to the queues in petrol stations. It took me 2 hours to reach home when usually it will take only half an hour. I really wonder if all these people are having empty tank in their cars or just pumping RM10-RM30 just to fill up.
Lucky my car’s fuel consumption is quite low. With 41% increment, I need extra RM123 every month. I’m sure everything else will increase pretty soon. But how come our pay never increase?! I know if I proposed this matter to my boss, he would probably say “How come the company’s revenue never increase?!”
While blogging on this post, I have a look outside from my balcony. The jam is still very bad
and the sound of honks *annoying*
